(This is for the 2qt. Pampered Chef Micro Cooker). I just got my new steamer and made the most perfect and fastest and easiest white basmati rice in it in my life. The steamer is good looking. Using the handles won’t burn your fingers if you don’t use pot holders. I was planning to use it just for vegetables, but I found this recipe for rice online and it couldn’t have been easier. No more rice that’s underdone or overdone. No more scraping burned rice from the bottom of the pot. No more long cleanup. Selling my Cuisinart rice cooker on eBay.Microwave White Rice1. Put 1 1/2 cups basmati, jasmine, or sushi rice in microwave steamer.2. Cover with cold water, swirl with fingers and drain to wash rice. Repeat 3 times.3. Add fresh water to cover rice by 1”. (Use first knuckle of finger to touch top of rice).4. Cover with lid.5. Microwave on high 9 minutes. Let rest covered for 3 minutes before fluffing.Microwave Brown Rice1. Put 1 cup brown rice in microwave steamer.2. Cover with cold water, swirl with fingers and drain to wash rice. Repeat 3 times. Drain.3. Add 3 cups water.4. Microwave uncovered on high 10 minutes5. Microwave on high 20 minutes at 50% power. Let rest covered for 3 minutes before fluffing.

I’ve been using the white microwave pan with the holes in the lid ($12.99 at Amazon.com) for years…and I do mean years – at least 20!! I became so used to hot liquids hitting my hands that I hardly felt it. This pan was so stained – and old!! – that I decided to look for something new. I was going to get the same pan but read the description of the Pampered Chef 2 quart kettle, and I was won over. The lid really locks!! The handles do not get hot!! And I’m not burned with steam or hot liquids when removing it from the microwave and draining. Yesterday I boiled potatoes in it for mashing and they came out perfectly; I’ve also cooked frozen veggies – perfect, and heated soup – perfect. Since it was delivered, I’ve used it at least once a day…so…I’m going to buy the 3 quart in September and the 1 quart in October. I’m also buying a set for my son for Christmas. These are the best microwave cookers I’ve ever used and highly recommend them.

I ordered this Pampered Chef product late on a Saturday afternoon and it arrived the next day, a Sunday, in the afternoon. Amazing delivery! It is a gift so I can’t leave a review on the product yet. I have an older version of this product though and I love it. I use it to steam vegetables in the microwave.

This is a really handy rice cooker. It’s easy to rinse the rice and then pour off the water. The top is sturdy and stays in place when pouring off the water. It is a very well thought out design. I do advise that you put a plate under it while cooking in the microwave. Sometimes the water bubbles up and spills out. Using a plate will keep your microwave clean.

We have an older version (which we liked). The new version is even better. It’s easy to carry. Easy to lock the top in place. Easy to clean. Overall, it’s a winner!

The cooker heats food better than placing it in an open bowl. The lid stops food splatters and keeps the food hot longer.

This makes microwave cooking, draining and storing frozen vegetables easy.

It is smaller than I expected. A little pricey for the size. Easy to use, easy to clean, does what it says. Just wish It was a little bigger
