This fits my 5 quart bowl perfectly! People need to learn to look up their model number and accessory compatibility before making a purchase. Your model number is on the box and on the serial number sticker on the mixer- go to KitchenAid’s website and they will tell you what is compatible. Not all 5 qt bowls have the same dimensions as KitchenAid makes models with wide bowls and narrow bowls.If you are looking to buy this, please read the following! This listing is for model KSMBLPS. This comes directly from the manual:“This Accessory has been approved for use with all 5/5.5/6/7 Qt Bowl LiftKitchenAid® Stand Mixers with Stainless Steel Bowl, except model numbers 5KPM5,5K5, 4KSM5, 5K5SS, 5KSM5, 5KSM50, 5KSM500, 5KSM6573, KG25, 3KSM5, 9KSM5,and 5KSM450.”If your model is listed, don’t buy this because it’s not compatible!As far as function goes with compatible mixers, this is great! I bought one for my mom a few years ago and it didn’t snap on. It never wanted to stay on the edge and didn’t take much to knock it off. This one is so much better- a snug fit! No more flour shooting out the top. I will add a photo later- Amazon is having tech issues and it won’t let me at the moment.

She has a heavy duty mixmaster she has used for years. But she tends to drop and break things. She dropped the guard the other day and it cracked and broke into several pieces. I found this one to fit her bowl, and ordered it. We got it really fast, and it fit perfectly; she likes it better than the last one. I hope this is the last one – but I have purchased 3 or 4 replacements so far.

We like that it clips on to the bowl and stays there even when bumped. My old KitchenAid had a cover that just sat there but the slightest bump would knock it off. Otherwise, does what it’s supposed to: Keep ingredients in the bowl.

This cover fits, and works as it intended to, but after a few times cleaning it you will see the surface of the plastic is prone to scratches. This does not affect functionality of the cover but I know that at least someone will want to know that the appearance will be affected with continued use.

Love this shield. It keeps the ingredients in my mixer not on my counter tops. Then the pour spout allows me to neatly pour into baking pan without messy splatter. Worth every penny. Good quality and snaps on tight.
