I first noticed the KitchenAid Bread Bowl in person at Williams Sonoma. I was impressed by the quality and weight of the bowl. I ordered the bread bowl later that day from Amazon. I’ve used the bread bowl almost weekly. I’m a bit of a messy cook and this bread bowl has streamlined my bread baking operation. I follow the directions and haven’t had any issues. I highly recommend buying if you like to bake bread and have a KitchenAid.

Got this for my spouse who makes delicious bread and a sinkfull of bowls, baskets and pans. This one vessel can do it all! Best gift to each other. ?

I vacillated on buying this for several months. A friend’s endorsement led me to order one. Overall it more or less does what it says: you can mix, proof and bake all with this one bowl and lid. But not as seamlessly as proposed.I bake a lot of bread–mostly sourdough and some yeast and (Oirish) soda breads. For the pot and lid to work in the oven they really need to be preheated, otherwise you miss the optimal heat/dough/steam nexus to get a really good oven spring. When I compared bread baked in it pre-heated versus cold, the cold produces only an OK soda bread: the rest just are inferior. If I proof the bread in something else and preheat the lid and bowl, it works much better–but that makes acquiring this less compelling. Also, because of the lid size, the dough maxes out at a much smaller size–otherwise the dough sticks to the base, the bowl, or both. Which is a nightmare. And…it takes up a lot more room in the fridge during an overnight proof. So I use it for soda breads. ‘Tis grand for that.

Use for mixing and proofing mostly but, fantastic for overnight proofing.

I now have two of these. Love them! I can make multiple loaves (yes, you need two ovens).

It’s a quality piece and I’ve used it several times. I’m sure there are cheaper out there but I like that I can use it has a mixing bowl and as a Dutch oven.
