Update: What I wrote originally below this paragraph still holds, but this is a caution to be sure to check product functionality immediately upon receiving them. I just received a two-pack, discovering upon trying to install them on two bottles that one of them was defective and did not work at all. I of course am returning them for replacement, but had I waited beyond the month period allowed for returns, I’d have been out of luck.Original review: I’ve been using these for years, although some years back, when there were really large soda bottles with bigger mouths, the ones I had were a larger version than these. Now, soda bottle sizes generally stop at 2 liters, and they all usually have the same mouth size, so these fit them all.The important thing is to pump sufficiently to maintain the fizz for a decent period. This requires goodly pressure, which may mean pumping quite a bit. If a swallow or two is removed from a half-liter bottle, 10 or 15 pump strokes may be fine, but if half a bottle is consumed—I do this all the time—it will require 50 or 60 strokes to pressurize the bottle sufficiently. It becomes clear when enough pressure is present, because making an indentation with fingers becomes challenging. Like it or not, it will require more pump strokes the emptier the bottle is. But the device is a faithful servant when used this way.

This should not work due to Henryโs law. I had some in the past but they wore out. Bought these. My large soda bottles appear to keep their fizz longer. Downside it takes a lot of pumps to increase the pressure enough.

Not built as well as they were 20 years ago.Tip: turn bottle upside down, then right side up before pumping – thus wetting the seal. If you are covered in soda, then you should have known to install fizz keeper before turning upside down!

They seem to work. They are much better than others I have tried.

It never seems to pump the air out.

1 worked fine and one failed after two months. I will buy the same concept but not this brand.

I have had these fizz keepers before but these are not good quality. One of them hardly pumps at all and the other one pumps maybe 3 out of 5 times. Not good items

I’ve long used a similar pump for wine bottles and the wine lasts unbelievably long so decided to try this one for soda. It works just great. However, it does take a lot of pumping! With wine, the pump becomes resistant. This pump doesn’t seem to become resistant but you can tell by gently squeezing the bottle. You will feel the bottle “resist” the hand squeeze as it is ready to put in the refrigerator. No, it isn’t as fizzy as when opened but it is still better than with the bottle cap.
