Warm Tips – Please upside down your CO2 tank if you can not refill when the CO2 tank standing.ย This is because of some tanks have not the dip tube (syphon tube) inside. – pin not included. If needed, please use pin or wrench to Open the vent screw to discharge the residual gas. – NOT compatible with donor tank that has a residual pressure valve. SODA CO2 REFILL ADAPTER – This easy-to-use Cylinder Filling Adaptor will enable you to fill your own CO2 from your larger bulk cylinder into smaller cylinders. – An easy and inexpensive way to fill your own Cylinders at home at a fraction of the cost of getting the refills from your local store. – Can be used with large CO2 tanks with CGA320 connector ( the USA, CAN, Brazil, Colombia) SPECIFICATIONS Material: Brass Size: 2.2×2.2x6cm Packing included: 1 x CO2 Refill Adapter TR21-4 to CGA320 Connector 4 pcs Big Gasket and 4 pcs Small Gasket How it works 1. Cool the Soda-Strean Cylinder in the freezer for 1 hour. 2. Screw the adapter to a commercial CO2 gas cylinder. 3. The empty CO2 cylinder is screwed into the adapter. 4. For most big cylinders: turn the big cylinder upside down. (if you can not refill when the CO2 tank standing, because some of the tank have not the dip tube (syphon tube)inside.) 5. Carefully Open the valve of the large gas bottle(The valve on the Soda-Strean Cylinder closes the flow if it is opened too much. This will happen if you open the big cylinder too much / too fast. The trick is to open the big cylinder very carefully. You will hear the airflow. So to fill it successfully). 6. After about 15-20 sec., The cylinder is completely filled. 7. Close valve of the large gas bottle. 8. Opening the bleed screw to drain residue remaining gas. 9.Unscrew the CO2 cartridge โ done.

Yes it is a bit difficult to use but with some practice you will get the hang of it. However so far I could not fill any of my tanks with more than 110 grams which is about 1/4 the amount in a new one. Going to try and freeze the empty tank the next time I fill it and hopefully I can get more gas in it. Still worth the money even if I have to refill it weekly.**Tried chilling both the empty ss bottle and also my full CO2 tank and that didn’t help to get any more gas in it and it just tripped the pressure valve when chilling the empty ss bottle. However turning my 20LB CO2 tank upside down when it warmed back up did the trick. Got well over 300 grams in the empty ss bottle! Hard to do this but it worked like a charm. 5 star for the ability to almost completely fill my empty ss bottles but the pain in doing so gives it 4 stars. My last refilled ss bottle is still going 3 weeks later so I’m happy.

Product works perfectly if you follow a different set of instructions than what are included in the box. Their instructions here on Amazon seem to be a bit better. The one most important change is that when you do the real fill after the initial purge, you must open the valve coming from the large co2 tank VERY slowly. Just go slow until you hear a hissing, then pause, then when it fades you can keep slowly increasing it. This prevents some sort of anti fill mechanism in the soda stream from tripping. The last caveat is that if you do not have an eductor/siphon tube tank, it’s better if you have an easy way to flip the large tank upside down while filling (sometimes they have platforms that goes on the top of the tank that help). That way liquid co2 gets into the soda stream bottle and you don’t have to fill it up more often than needed.I’ve seen other reviews complain about leaks on this product but if you make sure all the fittings are tight and that you actually put the rubber gasket on the product before hooking up to the large tank, there shouldn’t be any leaks. Perhaps there are inconsistencies with how they seal things however.

After a few less successful attempts, got it working with a few pointers to share:#1 – get a precision scale to know how much CO2 you are adding. Add too much and it wonโt work as there isnโt enough expanded gas in the tank and can cause pressure valve to blow. Add too little, wonโt result in desired carbonation. Get a scale.#2 – freeze your sodastream bottle overnight. Make sure that bottle is super cold for transfer. Prevents the liquid hitting warm space with lower pressure and creating more gas and less room for CO2 liquid to fill.#3 – Use a siphon valve tank, flipping a bottle upside down is not recommended as it can cause valve issues although plenty of people see to do it just fine. Hook up the setup and attach sodastream bottle, keep all valves closed, open donor bottle (eg 20lb bottle) CGA320 screw valve.#4 – carefully screw sodastream bottle valve until you just hear the gas escaping (stop there, do not go further) which fills the line#5 – slightly open atmosphere valve to allow the line to blow out slightly and clear line of air, then close#6 – slowly crack open the ball valve to donor bottle until you hear transfer start and you should see increase on scale#7 – close donor ball valve when target weight reached. Happens fast (10-30seconds) with new donor bottle, slower when donor bottle is low.#8 – close valve to sodastream (counterclockwise)#9 – open valve to atmosphere to vent remaining gas from line (make sure in a ventilated space – I blow mine out garage door), close valve#10 – close donor bottle screw valve, remove sodastream bottle#11 – IMPORTANT – do not attempt to use sodastream bottle when still cold, let it normalize to room temperature overnight otherwise it will not perform as expected in sodastream.#12 – enjoyI have a local AirGas store and paid for one of their tanks so I can just swap the tank vs making 2 trips (drop off and pick up). $30 per 20lb refill as of last refill (which I anticipate getting about 18 refills on sodastream, will see when I get there in about a year and a half). Cost a bit more for the tank and not the prettiest but leaving it in the garage and saves hassle of multiple trips!

Empty soda stream canister weights 728 grams, I was able to fill mine up to 1087g, so 359g of CO2.If “full” CO2 weights 410g, then I filled mine up to ~88%. Pretty good so far.Used all tricks mentioned in other comments, that is putting soda stream canister into the freezer overnight, pressed the valve on the soda stream canister until it wasn’t hissing (to empty any residual pressure), and filled it with source tank upside-down, very slowly, over like ~4 minutes of time (until hissing sound stopped). Now does it make sense financially?- Price of refilling my 10lb tank is at around $8.3/kg of CO2 (10lb = ~4.5kg, $37 / 4.5kg = $8.22)- price of switching out the soda stream canister at walmart comes up to $41.5/kg ($17 per canister containing 410g of CO2, so $17/0.410 = $41.46/kg)- initial cost of filled 10lb tank $155 + $20 for this adapterSo if my math is correct, and it’s been a while since I went to school, it comes up to even out at 5.3kg used, so almost 13 soda stream tank replacements. Not great but since more people than just me used the machine, and original tank lasted maybe two weeks, then it evens out well under one year. One more tip – probably best place to get the big tank of CO2 is local “brewing supplies shop” (by searching just that I found one like ~18 minutes from my house).

Easy to use. Just go very slowly for refilling or the valve on your soda stream bottle will close.
