Grits –
If you own a Blendtec (and you should!), this is a must-have. We gave our old, still running V—Mix to a relative when we purchased a Blendtec, and don’t regret it at all. Once this jar was marketed, we checked with relatives that already owned one and the reviews were outstanding. [Disclaimer: one of our daughters is married to the brother of one of the lead engineers on the development of this particular jar. However, we don’t get discounts, we just happen to be fortunate enough to get “inside” information about the development process, etc. – nothing that helps us, just interesting info.]Our very first “project” was almond nut-butter. It turned out great – no wasted food trying to learn how to use this. We put a cup of raw almonds in this, used the twist-top to keep the sides clean and all the emerging nut-butter down in the bottom so it would continue processing, and in just a couple of minutes or so, we had delicious, fresh almond nut butter. It didn’t need ANY additions, though I suppose one could add salt to taste, or other flavoring – we just didn’t think it needed it.There is so much more you can do with this, including single-serving smoothies, and much more. Clean up was amazingly simple – the spatula is designed to get almost every bit – and I mean almost EVERY bit – of things like thick nut-butter out of the jar so there’s no waste. Then simply put a little hot water in it, a drop or two of dish detergent, put on the top that seals (not the one used while making the nut butter), run it a few seconds, and it’s clean! Rinse, dry, and you’re done. The “Twister Jar” name comes from the other top that has two blade-like projections down either side. While the blender is running, you just slowly twist the jar top and the “blades” keep wiping down the sides to keep everything blending instead of sucking air down into the bottom and over-speeding the motor with nothing to blend. It really works – great engineering innovation! And the fact that our son-in-law’s brother is on that team is of no consequence to us – it’s just a well designed unit we’re glad to have purchased at full price through Amazon.Price? A bit pricey, but I have no doubt that over time it will be well worth it. It can be used as a single serving “regular” high-speed blender that merely has a smaller jar. Or it can be used as the specialty item it’s particularly suited for. Instead of using the regular sized Blendtec jar (that would take many starts and stops, having to keep pushing the substance being blended back down into the blades every few seconds), this does the job in perhaps 1/10 of the time with a whole lot less work. Our daughter had made nut-butter previously in the regular full sized jar, and it took her over 20 minutes and a lot of work. This took maybe a couple of minutes, plus a minute or two more to do clean up, with almost no waste stuck in the bottom! Go price nut butter in a health-food store, and you’ll be sold on this. And in addition to the convenience, what you get is as fresh as it gets with no preservatives or other additives. In short – we LOVE this device! What a great idea to make a very difficult blending task very easy (and quick) with minimal clean up.P.S. If you’ve never seen the Blendtec “Will It Blend?” videos on You Tube, they’re not only a great advertising gimmick, they’re absolutely hilarious. You can watch the company’s owner blend everything from cell phones to the plunger attachment from the competing V___Mix blender, and the motor just keeps on running – amazing, but also a great laugh. (We’re told they have a lot of fun at the company. 🙂 )

I purchased my Blendtec Champ HP3 approximately 25 years ago (c. 1997-98). Since then, I’ve had to replace the pitcher two times—this purchase being my 2nd time (March 2022). The first pitcher leaked around the gasket, and the second one had the blade become jammed somehow. I think the wear and tear is more than acceptable within that period of time. The first attempt to order the recent replacement was a failure in that the item was lost in transit. I simply canceled and attempted to order again, and I received it within a couple days. The item was crystal clear and in new condition. However…it does not fit perfectly on the base of my blender. I don’t know if Blendtec has modified their product recently to create a slight difference of tolerance in how the pitcher fits around the base. Also, there seems to be a bit of noise where the gears fit together. I do clean this portion regularly with q-tips to remove any gunk that builds up from general use, and I did so before fitting the new pitcher in place. I filled the pitcher with water just to test it out and was disappointed to feel a lot of rattling from the gears turning the blades. With that said, I would not be surprised if over 25 years of use, the gears of the motor have worn down enough to create an imperfect grip with the gears of the blade. I can hold the pitcher steady with one hand and get minimal noises coming from the motor or gears. I have a feeling I can probably get a few more years out of my blender—maybe another ten—before it sees the end of its lifecycle. The product overall, I would grant five stars, but my purchase is only for the pitcher portion. The hiccup in ordering is one thing. However, the imperfect fit makes me wonder if I have a slightly defective pitcher, or if there has been a slight change in Blendtec’s overall design that no longer fits what I have, or if it’s just wear and tear causing the gears to not communicate 100%—and that is causing me to knock off one star. This is definitely an heirloom grade product. If I do need to replace this, I will be purchasing another Blendtec blender.

I have my Blendtec for over 10 years but I don’t use it often and it has around 1,000 cycle count. The seal / bushing below the blade started to leak one day. The bottom of the jar also has a bad smell. $110 for a plastic jar is very steep but in order to extend the life of my $400 Blendtec I decided to buy a replacement. The jar has a new cover but liquid will spill out from the centre square cover so I need to use a kitchen towel to cover it while in use.Tips to make the jar lasts longer:1. Use your fingers to rotate the shaft at the bottom a few turns before putting the jar on the blender.2. Don’t use the blender continuously. Allow rest time between cycles.3. Clean and dry the blades and the shaft entirely before putting it back on the blender or for storage.

Bought this as a replacement for my original jar which had started leaking. The new jar is great but it is not cheap!

Bought as a direct replacement for the blender jar that we wore out on our Blendtec blender. Much cheaper then buying a whole new blender.

We use our wildside multiple times a day. In fact we had to order 2 so that we could have multiple smoothies and shakes going at once. One of my kids prefers protein shakes and the other prefers green shakes so we have to have at least 2 wildside buckets. We are saving up $ to buy a third one. These buckets are so durable, easy to clean, and really blend nicely. They store in the fridge and fit on the shelves of the fridge well. The lids fit great with a tight seal and easily clean in the top rack of the dishwasher. We put the blender bucket in the dishwasher too, it washes great. I would highly recommend this and will buy again and again.

You gotta have a lid. Perfect fit.
