So I opted to replace my float valve gasket (original) after I think probably a good 5 years of the instapot being used. Now I had zero clue that this little gem should probably be replace but now I will be replacing my mothers every once in a while without her knowledge as I borrow hers for cooking too.It is super easy to replace. You get plenty of them. And after a while as I said mine turned a nice color orange (gasket was still ok but it I think it retained the smells of all the cooking).New one my goodness give it a new gasket and the seal around the rim was just replace and wow I have a brand new instapot.Well worth it these little things came in a little box which was awesome since most things come in a plastic baggy (squish heaven). So when I need to replace they easy to find in the drawer in their little box.Definite must if you also notice it take a little bit longer for your pressure valve to pop-up.

Ok…. I try really hard when washing my Instant Pot lid parts to remember each piece that is in the sink. In fact, I worry so much about each part that I have started using a bowl or cup to hold the pieces. This worked amazingly well for almost two years… and then it didn’t. As soon as I started to drain the water I knew I had messed up, but it was too late. My gasket was gone. Thankfully, I found that there were gaskets for sale (and in bulk, no less). They must have known I’d come a knockin’ on their door for help. The gaskets showed up a few days later. I have a bit of a struggle getting the gasket on and off, but it fits nice and snug and works perfectly on my 6 quart Instant Pot. So if you’re like me and try really hard not to lose the little pieces and then some outside force walks off with your brain causing the gasket to become lost forever. Don’t fret, these gaskets work as well as any original. AND, they give you backups for when you rinse and repeat the same, “oops, I did it again”.

If you own an Instant Pot Dou SV from Price Costo then this silicon float valve gasket is for you provided you haven’t lost the metal float valve itself. Like almost every user of IP, I was surprised while using the pot that the steam was escaping from the regulator and as a result the pressure inside was not being retained, upon inspection, I discovered that the silicon gasket was missing and I couldn’t find it. Luckily the metal float valve was still in its place. Losing it also would have rendered this particular IP useless since every IP comes with a model specific float valve. A search in Amazon and I came upon this, bought it not even sure it would fit. Well, it did!, snuggly and just perfect. So back to the joys and ease of instant pot cooking, again. Comes in at 12 pcs. Never will worry about replacement for a while. Highly recommended,

When I first used my Instant Pot I knew this little piece would get lost. It’s small, translucent and has no color. It has to be removed in order to put the lid in the dishwasher. Of course, after about 3 uses this little gizmo disappeared. Glad Amazon had these replacements so I didn’t wait long to use the pot again.
